“Was not their mistake once more bred of the life of slavery that they had been living?—a life which was always looking upon everything, except mankind, animate and inanimate—‘nature,’ as people used to call it—as one thing, and mankind as another, it was natural to people thinking in this way, that they should try to make ‘nature’ their slave, since they thought ‘nature’ was something outside them” — William Morris

On the way to Helsinki

I can't wait to meet the conference crew and get to work. Lots of it too! And being interviewed by the paper. Hopefully I won't be too jet lagged when that happens.

My talk, which I think is on Thursday, is called "The Spectral Plain."

Tim, a brilliant sound installation by Finnish choir, Mieskuoro Huutajat, in which they scatter the Australian apology to aboriginals. It's 6 minutes. You'll love it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qEfigd1deJM
